As one in a series of global meetings designed to clarify objectives and lay a firm foundation for the strategic development of MPTs, this symposium brought together representatives from reproductive health and HIV prevention research, product development, donor, advocacy, and policy entities within India to discuss opportunities to advance MPT research and support within India. The meeting objectives included: reviewing the current status of MPT development and highlighting needs and potential challenges; expanding multisectoral input into possible product development plans; and defining a clear agenda for MPT research and development for India.
