This meeting provided interdisciplinary experts to review the characteristics for developing an ideal MPT product for target populations with highest unmet need for contraception and prevention from STIs, like HIV. It also considered relevant technologies and determined recommendations for advancing research and development, as well as addressing research challenges. Additionally, the meeting led to a clear MPT agenda that informed the scientific rationale for accelerating MPT product development and how field experts can support efforts for advancing these technologies.
