Kathreen Daria

Kathreen Daria joined CAMI Health in 2016 and serves as Project Coordinator. In this role, she leads CAMI Health’s online communication efforts, including its website and social media, as well as the logistics of managing a global learning network. Kathreen aspires to reach global communities by providing socially just solutions for health issues affecting marginalized populations–especially young women. She earned her Master's in Public Health from the University of San Francisco and Bachelor’s in Public Health from the University of California, Irvine.

When I was a college freshman, I was among the 45% of 15-29 year old students with a stated desire to work in healthcare. Like many of these young people, I didn’t initially realize that a career in health could be outside a hospital setting–but soon discovered another exciting and important avenue in public health.

And how romantic that it was on Valentine’s Day, right?” Jen, one of the first friends I made in college, could barely contain herself as she shared this news while walking with me to the university café. She then hesitated, “The only thing is, he didn’t have a condom. Do you think I’ll be okay?”
